Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei And My Burberry Fragrance Present Elegant British Garden Afternoon Tea

From August 15 to September 13, Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei joins hands for the very first time with world-famous British brand Burberry to launch “My Burberry British Garden High Tea” at Marco Polo Lounge (38F).http://www.itcma.com/

Inspired by the British brand’s latest fragrance, “My Burberry,” the hotel’s newly appointed Pastry Chef Jennifer Tung and her team have especially created a series of elegant delicacies capturing the spirit of the fragrance and that of a British garden for everyone to enjoy an exclusive Shangri-La tea time.

“My Burberry British Garden High Tea” is only available for 10 sets per day at NT$880 plus 10 percent per person.  Guests will also receive a special “My Burberry Gift” (valued at NT$1,200) when enjoying these delights during the promotion.  For reservations, please call (02) 2378 8888 ext. 5952.

As the design of Burberry’s 2015 fragrance “My Burberry” reflects the iconic details of its trench coat and the scent of garden flora, Chef Jennifer focused on this idea and created sweets that are not only refreshing, but also eye-catching.

The hand-made Classic Trench Coat Cookie is one of the team’s most amazing creations.  Using tasty caramel chocolate, the chef recreates details of the signature trench coat by hand drawing.  With one bite, guests can taste the addictive flavor mixed with the aroma of French orange sauce and salted caramel, leaving a mouthful of refreshing indulgence.

Combining dark chocolate and milk chocolate, the handmade My Burberry Orange Sablé Cookie is another special dessert that echoes the fragrant scene.  To give the theme a playful characteristic, the pastry team has especially chosen sablé with a slightly crunchy and crumbly texture.  While enjoying the cookie, guests will immediately savor the rich aroma of orange for some light flavor during the summer.

Featuring the scent itself, Rosy White Truffle Pearl Chocolate is made with Belgian white chocolate.  Using white truffle as the flower bud, Chef Jennifer made the petals one by one with shapeable chocolate, creating a beautiful delight that is not only a treat for the taste buds, but also a feast for the eyes.  Guests will get a surprise when they discover the different layers of textures created by the crispy chocolate and soft ganache.

In addition to all the delicate desserts are authentic Italian snacks to balance the sweetness.  Selected tea is also available to accompany every guest on a nice afternoon.
