Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort & Spa, Kota Kinabalu in Malaysian Borneo invites guests to enjoy the most important meal of the day with the ultimate breathtaking view – overlooking the majestic Mount Kinabalu and lush Bornean coastline.

The ‘Breakfast with a View’ package lets guests trek through the Bornean jungle, 90 metres above sea level, to enjoy an invigorating breakfast overlooking Malaysian Borneo.  A professional ranger will lead the hike, carrying a hand-woven wakid (traditional Sabahan carrying basket) filled with fresh breakfast produce.  Visitors will trek through the treetops, crossing a canopy walk on the way.  They will know they are closer to reaching the summit when they see the day’s first light breaking through jungle’s ceiling.  It is a truly sensory learning experience, in which the expert guide will show guests native flora and fauna, such as long-tailed macaque monkeys, deer, squirrels, hornbills and 30 species of butterflies.
Guests will know they have reached the end of their journey when they see the spectacular view of Mount Kinabalu that awaits them.  Upon completing their climb, they will be greeted with cold towels to cool them, a delicious breakfast of pastries and fresh seasonal fruits from the local market and, for guests celebrating a special occasion, an option to include a bottle of Champagne to further heighten the remarkable view.
As they descend from the summit, guests will be led along a secret trail to the private honeymoon lagoon, so called as it is entirely secluded and only reachable via the jungle path or by kayak.  They will be able to immerse in the silence of this private beach, exclusively theirs, before their ranger leads them out on their kayak towards the turquoise waters of Pantai Dalit Beach.
A five-star 499-room beachfront resort, Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort & Spa, Kota Kinabalu boasts an enviable location on the 3-kilometre-long Dalit Beach.  The resort’s 400 acres of colourful tropical gardens and rainforest are bordered by the Tambalang and Mengkabong Rivers on either side – a tranquil setting which incorporates its own 64-acre Nature Reserve, sanctuary to native Borneo animals.  The resort offers guests two distinct accommodation wings – an exclusive Ocean Wing and the family-friendly Garden Wing.  The adjacent 18-hole, par 72 Dalit Bay Golf & Country Club offers an interestingly scenic game with UNESCO World Heritage Site Mt. Kinabalu in the background, while culinary offerings range from Malaysian hawker-style food to incredible contemporary Western cuisine.
