Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa, Singapore has once again joined hands with Sentosa Golf Club on 1 February 2018 for the annual charity golf fundraiser, Drive for ARC and raised a record S$258,900 during the event.

This year’s fundraiser marked the resort’s seventh year supporting Arc Children’s Centre and its eleventh year hosting an annual charity golf tournament in aid of a selected beneficiary. To date, over $1 million dollars has been raised for Arc Children’s Centre.

Established in July 2011, the day centre for children diagnosed with cancer and other life-threatening diseases has played a pivotal role in providing much-needed moral and emotional support to brighten up the children’s days.

The tournament was held on Sentosa Golf Club’s Serapong Course. A total of 120 golfers participated in Drive for ARC and children from Arc Children’s Centre gave an energetic performance during lunch before the tee-off. The fundraising event ended with an auction dinner. Guests-of-honour at the event were Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and patron of Arc Children’s Centre, Mrs Goh Chok Tong.

The auctioned items included a golf package to play in the upcoming Am-Am of SMBC (Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation) Singapore Open 2019, with access to the VIP Hospitality Suite at Sentosa Golf Club, various vacation packages including flight tickets and stays in Shangri-La properties around the world, autographed golf memorabilia by professional golfers Sergio Garcia and Adam Scott and more.

“We have reached a new milestone in our fundraising efforts for Arc Children’s Centre, as we have raised more than S$1 million dollars to date, over seven editions of Drive for ARC. All of us at Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa are committed to sharing happiness with the little ones and their families, with various departments in the resort organising monthly activities every year.
