Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives expands its Private Jet arena

March 21, 2014 Hotel News No Comments Email Email

In 2014 the luxury market has an appetite for private jet travel; the quintessential symbol of convenience. As one of the world’s most prestigious resorts, Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa capitalizes on this growing trend by introducing a number of exciting collaborations with private jet operators.
This direction complements the Resort’s private executive airport terminal facilities, renowned for being the only one in the Maldives. Villingili also has access to an exclusive VIP lounge that handles entry-exit and check-in procedures for guests which bypasses crowded airports and keeps stress at a minimum. shangri-la-maldives-private-jet

Peter Donlevy, Director of Sales & Marketing at Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives commented, “We are excited to be expanding Shangri-La’s services within the private jet arena; we have seen a significant increase in enquiries and over 10% of our guests last year chose to travel this way.”

“Private jets travelers arrive and depart in effortless style from Gan Executive International Airport on Addu Atoll, a mere five minutes private boat transfer to Villingili Island. Gan offers first-class facilities including a VIP guest lounge exclusive to Shangri-La guests, with on-site immigration, customs support and baggage screening,” said General Manager, Rene Egle. “Shangri-La provides quality standards for VIP passengers and crew, offering a full range of facilities and services, including professional meet and greet, ground support equipment, cabin cleaning, catering services as well as fast and seamless transition from arrival to departure,” added Egle.

Luxurious accommodation includes ocean retreats, beach villas with infinity pools and unique tropical tree house villas. Relaxing in the villa on a brilliant tropical afternoon, guests can enjoy the stunning view where the azure waters meet sapphire-coloured skies. As night falls, they anticipate a sumptuous themed dinner, a dining experience served in one of the resort’s most secret locations.

This recent private jet development is line with hotel group’s new ‘Shangri-La Private Jet Journey’ programme, spearheaded in China, which aims to create a new stage for strategic cooperation with high end travel brands. Following the success of the programme’s ‘Maldives Double Luxury Villa Journey’, future expansion is set to include Europe, the Americas and Australasia.
