Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort & Spa, Maldives presents an action-packed Easter programme for 2019, designed to provide guests with truly memorable experiences amidst an idyllic island paradise uniquely located beyond the equator.  From bespoke Easter menus and cocktails at award-winning restaurants to live performances and underwater egg hunts, there are plenty of ways to celebrate this spring.

Families can spend quality time together over an Easter Sunday roast lunch at Javvu restaurant on 21 April 2019, with a sumptuous buffet and live-cooking stations featuring Roasted Lamb and other festive favourites in a breezy atmosphere facing the turquoise lagoon.  Located along the shoreline, offering stunning ocean views, Javvu is the perfect spot to relax over a leisurely lunch.  Guests are invited to celebrate in style with exclusive cocktails and live DJs surrounded by the white sands and turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.

Recreation and entertainment

The resort also offers a range of recreational activities, including underwater Easter egg hunts, basket-decoration workshop, fire shows and stilt performances, designed to keep the whole family entertained.

During Easter week, the resort will transform into an Alice in Wonderland themed paradise, with daily entertainment for both kids and adults. From morning guests are greeted by the much-loved tale’s characters at breakfast, creating a fun start of the day. Families will also enjoy interacting with Alice and her friends as they take them around the island, for an exciting Easter egg hunt in the jungle, a fun egg painting session and cake tasting, all topped-off with a unique show in the evening.

These original performances are provided by Nuit Blanche, a travelling cultural festival which brings the streets of leading cities alive at night through live entertainment and performances from exceptional local and international artists. This year, the world-renowned festival comes to the island of Villingili to surprise and delight guests during Easter holidays.

Additionally, guests can enjoy multiple water-sport activities, such as turtle quest snorkelling, paddle boarding, parasailing and mesmerising dolphin cruises, as well as land-based activities, including cycling through the lush jungle, playing on the only golf course in the Maldives, visiting the neighbouring local farms or running through the newly launched 5-kilometre trail.

Wellness and fitness

For those looking to relax and indulge in a little “me” time, CHI, The Spa offers an exclusive Easter competition.  Tucked away in its own private setting within the resort is a tranquil paradise with hidden gardens and a yoga pavilion overlooking the Indian Ocean.  Lucky winners will enjoy a facial, massage and foot reflexology treatment, and will get to choose from a range of hour-long treatments to ensure they leave feeling revitalised.

During the holidays, the resort will also present an exclusive “Master in Residence” fitness programme with internationally acclaimed personal trainer and motivational speaker Adrienne LDN from 9 to 19 April 2019.  The residency with the Adidas global ambassador will offer morning mobility sessions, personal training, group workouts and runs along the amazing coastline.
