Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa continues its year-long 50th Anniversary celebration with a special pre fixe family style dinner at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2013.

The event, 50 Classic Years of Sheraton Maui, treats guests to an evening celebrating the rich lifestyle and fanfare the resort has enjoyed since its 1963 opening.

As a nod to the year that the resort first welcomed visitors, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa’s Executive Chef Greg Gaspar has prepared a four course feast for $19.63 per person.  The inspired menu includes chilled papaya wrapped with prosciutto, cherry tomatoes stuffed with Maine Bay shrimp, Waipoli greens with grilled Big Island hearts of palm with passion fruit vinaigrette.  The main course includes Hawaii Rancher’s grilled rib eye steak with Ali’i mushrooms and Tahitian pepper spiced pan roasted pacific salmon.  Dessert will include Fuji Apple fruit tarts with Vermont cheddar cheese, Hawaiian sweet bread pudding with chocolate sauce and assorted anniversary petite fours.

“We invite our guests and kama‘aina to step back to yesteryear and join us in this golden anniversary celebration,” exclaims General Manager Tetsuji Yamazaki.  “We’ve brought all the elements together to celebrate the rich history of our resort” continues Yamazaki.

The opening of Sheraton Maui marked the onset of tourism to Maui and Ka‘anapali.  The landmark location has served as the backdrop for vacation memories for generations of families, romantics, and sports greats from around the world.

Dinner ticket price is $19.63 inclusive; children under 5 years free of charge.  A cash bar will serve beer, wine, cocktails, and the special anniversary Makana cocktail.

Seating is limited.  Please make a reservation by calling 808-921-4600.

Special anniversary packages are available, including promotional rates for the family-friendly ‘Ohana Suite.
