After 11 years of meticulous preparation, Silks Club is excited to announce the soft opening of Silks Club, Kaohsiung. The new Silks Club is in Asia’s New Bay area, close to the Kaohsiung Harbour and the city’s finest economic, cultural and entertainment venues such as the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, Kaohsiung Maritime Cultural and Pop Music Center. The hotel boasts of a total of 147 executive suites with simple yet classic designs accentuated from the extensive use of North American Oak and pink Angola marble from South Africa. All suites are furnished with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking spectacular views of the cityscape and harbour. 4D Kinetic installation “Dancing Particles”
The key highlight of the hotel is featured in the lobby on the ground floor – the exquisite 4D kinetic installation “Dancing Particles”. Created by renowned German design team ART+COM known for evolving motion art sculptures, the team was commissioned to create a bespoke art piece for Silks Club that was inspired by Kaohsiung image as Taiwan’s southern power city.

“Dancing Particles” consists of 168 metal spheres programmed to caress the water as they form elaborate moving shapes, accompanied by music that create an exquisite atmosphere. This artistic installation is scheduled to perform a choreographed sequence every 30 minutes in a fantastic 4D visual experience, showcasing a glimmering water dance that symbolises Kaohsiung’s position as a glittering pearl in the ocean.

Silks Club has also launched world-class brand “UKAI”, to present sensational gastronomic experiences for all guests. The UKAI TEI Kaohsiung restaurants are led by UKAI TEI Group’s Head Chef Yuichiro Sasano, who oversee a team of top chefs from Japan and Taiwan. The Japanese UKAI TEI Group has been awarded Michelin stars for the past 3 consecutive years, and is also the first teppanyaki restaurant to receive the Michelin award.

Located on the third floor of the hotel, UKAI Western Grill offers a western barbecue menu using the finest and most premium ingredients such as Australian Wagyu marbled beef and Iberian pork. Silks Club partners with Alien Art to launch Project 168
Silks Club has teamed up with Alien Art and a group of promising international and local artists to establish the Project 168, with the aim to create a global art exchange platform in Kaohsiung.

Project 168 has invited 200 local and international elite artists to decorate the public space of the Club as well as the guest rooms with their contemporary, unique art collections. If guests are interested in purchasing the art, they may speak to the hotel to get in touch with the artist.

To create a comprehensive visual experience, Silks Club invited famous interior designer Hashimoto Yukio – three times winner of JCD Design Award (Japan) to design the UKAI TEI Kaohsiung restaurants situated within the property. Inspired by the Japanese ‘Yūgen’ aesthetic of restrained mystery, the ambience of UKAI TEI Kaohsiung captures the impression of misty mountains found in Chinese landscape paintings, echoed by elegant ceiling lights made visible as you ascend the spiral staircase.

To celebrate the property’s soft-opening, Silks Club Kaohsiung is offering a reduced rate starting from NT$9,999/per room (SGD 449). Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary 180ml bottle of Dassai 23 and snacks from the mini bar.
