Silversea’s Galápagos-based expedition ship has received a trio of top honours from the members of Cruise Critic, a popular online cruise resource. In the 8th annual Cruise Critic Cruisers’ Choice Awards, Silver Galapagos took the top spot in three award areas in the small ship category: Best Overall Ship, Best Shore Excursions, and Best Value.

Welcoming just 100 guests, the refined, all-inclusive Silver Galapagos is Silversea’s smallest ship. Its two distinct seven-day itineraries in the Galápagos offer seamless shore excursions, quality lectures and multiple Zodiac® landings that are complemented by excellent dining, butler-serviced, all-suite accommodations, complimentary wines and spirits served throughout the ship, and at least one free hour of Wi-Fi per guest, per day.

“It’s a great honour to have our Silver Galapagos receive such wonderful accolades from the members of the Cruise Critic community,” said Barbara Muckermann, Silversea’s chief marketing officer. “This achievement is especially meaningful during a year in which we are also celebrating the tenth anniversary of the launch of Silversea Expeditions.”

“What’s fun to see in this year’s list of winners is the wide range of ships awarded as the best of the best,” said Colleen McDaniel, senior executive editor of Cruise Critic. “You have two of the largest ships at sea, alongside luxury yachts and small expedition ships that sail to some of the most far-flung destinations across the globe. As different as these ships are, the common thread is the exceptional ratings they received from actual guests.”

Silver Galapagos expedition cruises offer adventurous travellers the life-enriching chance to discover a wild, pristine paradise that has long been regarded as a natural laboratory of evolution. On complimentary expeditions ashore guided by an experienced expedition team (certified by the Galápagos National Park Service), guests may experience up-close encounters with an abundance of wildlife that includes sun-basking land iguanas, giant tortoises, blue- and red-footed boobies, colourful marine iguanas, sea lions, penguins and Darwin’s famous finches.

In Silversea’s expedition fleet, Silver Galapagos is joined by Silver ExplorerSilver Discoverer and Silver Cloud. Hosting from just 100 to no more than 254 guests (200 in polar regions), each ship has an on-board team of up to 22 experts, eager to share their considerable knowledge and insights on journeys to remote destinations on all seven continents.
