Spread the love

Singapore Airlines (SIA) today launched an innovative social media project to showcase the breadth of its global network and award winning products and services, collaborating with four well-known and up-and-coming Australian social media influencers and bloggers.

Dubbed #squadSQ, SIA will send the group of seven travellers to a total of nine destinations covering more than 90,000 miles over a period of 14 days.

Using Singapore as a hub, the group will each travel to two different destinations, collaborating and sharing their experiences with each other and their respective audiences, while highlights of their journey will be shared via the SIA Facebook page.

Using the #squadSQ, people can follow the adventures of the group and gain inspiration for their next holiday.

Departing on Saturday 25 August, the group will first spend a day exploring Singapore during a short stop-over. The group will then travel separately to four destinations across the SIA and SilkAir network, from the nearby to the far-flung, including Japan, Laos, South Africa and Germany.

After five days exploring the best that these exciting countries have to offer, they will then transit back through Singapore’s Changi Airport, showcasing just how much you can do in the world’s best airport, before heading to their second destinations, including Vietnam, South Korea, Sri Lanka, and Switzerland.

Following a further five days experiencing the fascinating sights of these countries, the group will meet again in Singapore to recharge, share stories and explore some of the lesser known aspects of the Lion city.

Singapore Airlines’ Regional Vice President Southwest Pacific, Philip Goh said the #squadSQ campaign provided the opportunity to connect with a new audience and showcase the SIA offering in a different way.

“We fly to some of the most interesting destinations in the world, and this project allows us to showcase a handful of these in a creative and modern way, on a scale not done before,” Mr Goh said.

“The fact that seven people are experiencing nine different countries and sharing their adventures all at the same time is a fun and exciting way to highlight just how far you can travel on the Singapore Airlines and SilkAir network.

“We are confident that the influencers and bloggers we have assembled will provide inspiration to those looking to explore the world.”
