Singapore Airlines has been named the ‘Best International Airline’ for 2018 at last night’s National Travel Industry Awards in Sydney.

Voted on by Australia’s Travel Trade community, Singapore Airlines took out the award for the first time since 2012.

Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President, Mr Philip Goh, was on hand to accept the award and thanked the trade for their continued support of the past 51 years.

“We do not set out to win awards such as this, however we are very proud and humbled by the Travel Trade Community’s decision to vote us the ‘Best International Airline’ for 2018,” Mr Goh said.

“This award is a direct reflection of the strong relationships and partnerships we have built with the Travel Trade community across Australia over the past 51 years, something we respect and are sincerely thankful for.

“It also reflects the hard work, dedication and passion that our staff show every day and I wish to thank them for their efforts over the past 12 months.

“We are very grateful to have been named ‘Best International Airline” for 2018 and together with our colleagues at Scoot and SilkAir we look forward to continuing to strengthen and build on our relationships with the Travel Trade community across Australia.”

The win caps off a remarkable week for Singapore Airlines who were also awarded “World’s Best Airline’ at the 2018 Skytrax Awards as well as the Airline of the Year at Melbourne Airport’s Excellence Awards.

Earlier this year Singapore Airlines was named ‘Best Airline in the World’ in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for Airlines 2018.
