Singapore Airlines’ New A380 Cabin Products Debut on Sydney Route

Customers travelling between Singapore and Sydney have become the first to experience Singapore Airlines’ all-new cabin products, with the entry into service of its recently-delivered Airbus A380 aircraft equipped with the new seats and in-flight entertainment system.http://www.tourismthailand.org/landing/landing_en.html

The aircraft entered into service as flight SQ221, which departed from Singapore at 2047 hrs local time on 18 December 2017 (Monday) and arrived into Sydney at 0743hrs local time today. The return flight operates as SQ232, departing from Sydney at 1215hrs local time and arriving into Singapore at 1735hrs local time.

A special event was held at the boarding gate room at Singapore Changi Airport to celebrate the inaugural flight. Customers departing for Sydney were presented with gift bags containing collectibles including a commemorative certificate, glassware, stationery and amenity kit.

The entry into service of Singapore Airlines’ newest A380 is the outcome of four years of extensive product development, reaffirming the Airline’s commitment to product innovation and leadership.

The new cabin products will be initially fitted to five new A380s being acquired from Airbus, following which retrofit work will commence on 14 aircraft that are already in service.

Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President South West Pacific, Mr Philip Goh, said Sydney and Australia was proud to once again be the launch customer for a new Singapore Airlines A380.

“In 2007 Sydney was the launch destination for the world’s first ever commercial flight of the A380 when SQ380 made it’s maiden journey from Singapore to Sydney,” Mr Goh said.

“A decade on and we are once again pleased to host our brand new A380 with new cabin all new cabin products.

“I am sure our customers will enjoy the increased space and privacy that these new cabin products deliver across all cabin classes.”

Singapore Airlines’ new A380s is fitted with 471 seats in four classes, with six in Suites, 78 in Business Class, 44 in Premium Economy Class and 343 in Economy Class.
