Singapore Airlines last night announced it would become the major partner of the National Wine Show of Australia from 2017. The new sponsorship was unveiled to Australia’s leading wine makers at the 2016 National Wine Show of Australia’s Presentation dinner in Canberra on Thursday night.
As well as becoming the major presenting partner of the National Wine Show of Australia from 2017-2019 Singapore Airlines will provide the winners’ of the Len Evans Memorial Trophy a chance to enhance their wine making knowledge with two tickets to anywhere in Singapore Airlines global network.
Singapore Airlines Manager ACT, Mr ChinYu Tan, said the National Wine Show of Australia aligned strongly with Singapore Airlines commitment to serving the very best wines onboard.
“Wine is something we take very seriously,” Mr Tan said.
“We have around 100 specially trained Singapore Airlines Air Sommeliers on board our flights and as part of their training all of our cabin crew are taught the essentials of wine appreciation.
“Our International Wine Panel is made up of three internationally acclaimed wine experts who carefully taste and select the wines we pour on board to ensure we are providing our customers with the very best pours to accompany their meals.
“Sponsoring Australia’s premium wine show, the National Wine Show of Australia fits perfectly with our commitment to wine and we are pleased to be able to support the Australian Wine Industry through this partnership for the next three years.”
Chairman of the National Wine Show of Australia, Mr Andy Gregory, welcomed Singapore Airlines support of the Australian wine industry.
“When Singapore Airlines began flying to Canberra this year we saw an opportunity to engage with them through our shared commitment and passion for wine excellence,” Mr Gregory said.
“The National Wine Show of Australia has been held in Canberra since it began in 1976 and Singapore Airlines decision to support and sponsor the show not only shows their commitment to a long standing and prestigious Canberra event, but to the Australian wine industry more broadly.
“We look forward to working closely with the Singapore Airlines team over the coming years.”
