SJ, the largest train operator in Sweden, has partnered with SilverRail Technologies, to make its rail tickets available around the globe to business and leisure travellers alike.

SJ is now incorporated into SilverRail’s integrated global rail platform SilverCore, which aligns rail suppliers from around the world into one simple booking system used by traditional travel agents, online travel agents and travel management companies worldwide. SJ tickets will initially be available through leading industry online booking tools, i:FAO’s cytric and KDS, and will soon be offered through other corporate and leisure distributors.

“Our partnership with SilverRail will bring about huge benefits for us as well as our customers. We will be in a place to attract new international customers to our network and provide business and leisure travellers with a simpler process when booking train tickets in Sweden,” said Director of Sales at SJ, Thomas Silbersky.

SJ sells over 27 million tickets annually and transports over 100,000 people daily. By partnering with SilverRail, SJ will make routes available to travel sellers around the world, enabling them to sell both rail-‐ only journeys and rail packages with hotel/car/air as well as multi-‐country rail journeys. Further, many of the complexities associated with rail within corporate travel, including managing multiple booking systems, handling multiple currencies and understanding the plethora of rail fares in each country, are alleviated with SilverRail solutions.

SilverRail’s Vice-‐President of Business Development, Alain van West agrees, “We integrate rail suppliers’ real-‐time availability and pricing into Silvercore, a single booking platform, making rail travel options available to customers worldwide. With SJ, the Nordics is opened up to customers around the globe and furthers our global initiative to make rail as easy to book as air.”
