SKAL International Port Harcourt chapter was inaugurated by the SKAL World President Lavonne Wittmann on Friday, 8th November 2019 at the Prestigious Hotel Presidential in the Garden city of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

The inaugural ceremony and induction of new members will allow leaders of the tourism and hospitality industry in Port Harcourt to be globally recognized as members of the association and further enjoy the benefits of Skal Membership.

While delivering her speech, the host Tariboba Memberr, President Skal International Port Harcourt club expressed her profound appreciation to impressive turnout of Skalleagues

“With a heart of service and a desire to expand our network as travel professionals, we open ourselves to embrace the bond of friendship offered by the global organization Skal International”

“As the city of Port Harcourt welcomes Skalleagues from Lagos and Abuja with the International Councilor leading the blaze we stepped out to do our business of tourism and hospitality with ‘friendship’ as our watch word. Indeed, we can say today that is all paid off with this inaugural ceremony”

“Since 5th day of May 2018, we have recorded a tremendous increase in our membership strength in the turnout of members from Port Harcourt city that attended the 2018 Mombasa, Kenya International Congress and the 2019 Miami Congress” she said.

Earlier, Skalleagues delegation led by World Skal International President Lavonne Witmann had visited Ministry of Tourism, Port Harcourt Chambers of commerce and the Nigeria Immigration Service as part of activities of the event

In attendance at the historic event are: Ex-President of Skal Lagos, Kemi  Soetan, President of Skal Lagos Rita Obidike , International Councillor of Skal Nigeria, Bimbo Durosinmi-Etti,  International President of Skal Lavonne Wittmann, President of Skal Abuja Julianna Tongrit, Ex-President of Skal Lagos Daisi Olotu  and members of Skal Club from Lagos and Abuja

The organization founded in 1934, Skal is 85-year-old professional organization of tourism leaders around the world. It is the world’s largest Travel Organisation of Travel and Tourism Professionals. It is the only international group uniting all sectors of the travel and tourism. Skål International has 15,000 Members in almost 400 Clubs in 87 Countries.
