64% of Australian parents would take their children out of school early for a cheaper holiday revealed leading global travel search site Skyscanner  in a recent survey while 33% of those parents admitted to doing so in the past.

When asked if they would take their children out of school to save some money, 33% of respondents said yes and they have done so in the past while 31% said they haven’t but they would consider it.

Skyscanner also found that flight searches for travel this week are up 69% and long-haul destinations are the biggest risers suggesting more and more parents are aiming to avoid the school holiday rush.

Asian destinations such as China, Hong Kong, Philippines and Singapore made the top ten emerging destinations for family travel in July this year with searches there increasing over 60% year-on-year beating once favoured family destinations like EGT_Artical Banner B 250x250Fiji.

While travel to Asia has risen, Europe and the UK continue to dominate travel during the July school holidays with Germany and Ireland the top two emerging destinations for Australians.

Leading the top ten most popular destinations for family travel this July was the UK, Indonesia and Thailand.

Skyscanner Market Development Manager for Australia, Dave Boyte says:

“Children all over Australia are cheering as parents are beginning to realise that travel outside the school break means cheaper holidays, less crowds and happier kids.
