‘Sky eye’ money-thrower tries to storm cockpit

June 17, 2016 Headline News No Comments Email Email

egtmedia59A man throwing money in the air and ranting “I opened the sky eye!” tried to break into the cockpit on a domestic flight, before cabin crew overcame him and other passengers helped truss the man securely to a seat.

The unruly scenes occurred last Thursday, 9 June 2016, on a China Southern Airlines flight from Wuhan in central China to Harbin in the country’s northeast.  The flight diverted to Zhenzhou following the incident, the Daily Mail online reported, and news and video of it have just surfaced.

After running down the aisle throwing money in the air, the man, apparently suffering delusions and paranoia, kept shouting: “Someone is trying to get me, I want to go into the sky, I opened the sky eye.”

A blurry video of cabin crew pinning the disruptive passenger down on a row of seats while he shouts in Chinese is circulating, but the quality is poor.

The man was suffering a mental breakdown, according to the Mail, and has been escorted to his family home.
