Boston has long been known as a center for scientific innovation and learning, and the Museum of Science has come to represent that spirit of discovery.

This iconic Boston attraction recently opened a new permanent exhibit that has been more than a year in the making – the Hall of Human Life. As a predominantly interactive exhibit, it is one of the first of its kind among science museums due to its completely immersive learning experience.

“We aim to address misconceptions and inspire you, as you discover new things about yourself and have fun comparing your data with friends and gI_86789_Hall of Human Life entrancefamily,” says Hall of Human Life manager Elizabeth Kong. “You will feel the excitement of science, exploring how your body works by asking ‘How do you know?’ questions, and adding your experiences to our unique experiment. We also want to help you navigate the tidal wave of information on health and biology and encourage you to ask more questions. If you wonder about “super bugs”, for example, you can find out how antibiotics work and how to understand antibiotic resistance. You will also learn that we need some microbes to survive.”

The Hall of Human Life promises to be a landmark exhibit, comprised of “dynamic, multi-sensory environments” that rethink the way people interact with scientific information about their own bodies. Inspired both by the scientific possibilities of the future and the probing questions that we face today, the contents of Hall of Human Life span a variety of subjects, from DNA sequencing to the impact of technology on the human brain. Smart Destinations customers will enjoy more than 70 interactive components that provide a participatory learning experience for children and their families, all designed to “revolutionize how you engage with your biology and manage your health.”

“The Museum of Science is one of the best family attractions in Boston and has been consistently very popular with our customers,” said Judy Gauthier, Regional Director with Smart Destinations. “This new exhibit represents a whole new area of exploration for our customers visiting the Museum, whether it’s for the first time or the fifth time.”

Smart Destinations customers will receive included admission to the Museum of Science and the Hall of Human Life with the Go Boston Card and the Go Select Boston Pass. The Museum of Science is also part of a featured family-friendly package, the Best Museums for Kids Pass. The Best Museums for Kids Pass also includes admission two other popular attractions, the Harvard Museum of Natural History and the Boston Children’s Museum. With instant delivery and flexible usage dates, this package is tailored to family vacations and school trips.
