It’s not just the guest rooms at Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney that have recently had a make-over but the spa has indulged in some pampering of its own and as a result, Tanatcha Spa has opened its doors featuring unique treatments using natural ingredients such as yogurt, honey and Australia’s favorite super food, the avocado.
The Spa is the brain child of Tanatcha Sornsiri (known as Yimmy) who has gained her extensive experience working in luxury hotel spas.
During her years of practice, Yimmy has conducted extensive research and her focus now is on utilising natural ingredients as she is mindful of the skin’s ability to absorb whatever you put on it. In other words she firmly believes what we use on our skin is just as important as what we put into our bodies.
The products Yimmy uses at Tanatcha spa are a combination of her own natural ingredients that she mixes herself and Skin Juice, a unique Australian-owned skin care range.
Forget having it on toast or in a salad, the much loved avocado when spread on the body has rehydrating and moisturizing super powers and being rich in vitamin E it also helps to restore collagen production so is a key ingredient on Tanatcha’s spa menu.
Other natural ingredients that feature on the menu include berries, coconut, almond powder, almond oil, walnuts and oatmeal. Sornsiri said, “natural ingredients have so many benefits and guests are always pleasantly surprised by how rehydrated their skin looks and feels following a treatment.
And, it’s a win for me at the end of the day if I have some avocado left over as I get to enjoy it the traditional way – by eating it!”
Tanatcha Spa features two therapy rooms and is located in the hotel’s wellbeing area on the Mezzanine level. The wellbeing area also includes an indoor pool, gym, steam room and Jacuzzi. The spa menu offers a variety of treatments including express massages, comforting massage, organic facial treatment, body treatments and full pamper packages that last between 2-4 hours.
Yimmy highly recommends the Tanatcha Signature Massage as it is exclusive to the hotel and combines a number of popular massage techniques including Thai (Yimmy’s background), Balinese and Swedish.
Wellness at the hotel is not limited to the wellbeing area however, with the recent launch of the new In-Room 20:20:20 Wellness Program. This wellness regime combines 20 minutes of physical workout, 20 minutes of mindfulness practice and 20 minutes of self-treatment. Complimentary yoga mats and resistance bands are provided. Whatever a guest’s fitness level, energy level or state-of-mind, the In-Room 20:20:20 is designed to wake up or wind down.
Radisson Blu Plaza Sydney also offers a range of healthy dinning and beverage options, which include freshly squeezed juices, a gluten free menu and vegetarian choices so guests can feel healthy inside and out.
