Smiling Albino, a Bangkok-based luxury adventure specialist, has been designing and operating bespoke itineraries in Southeast Asia for over a decade.

Canadian expatriate-come Thai television celebrity Daniel Fraser founded the unique DMC with little more than a deep knowledge of Thailand and a knack for befriending local movers and shakers. Today the company is among the region’s most respected upscale adventure operators in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Nepal.

Smiling Albino has recently forged a partnership stake in Indochine Exploration (ICE), an experienced adventure travel business based in Siem Reap, to create Smiling Albino Cambodia. ICE was founded by Nick Butler who has been working in Cambodia for over ten years creating adventures focusing on the unique wildlife and beauty of the countryside while providing livelihoods for the people that live there. With their broad knowledge, conservation focus, and knack for discovering areas unknown to most visitors, ICE brings guests beyond the temples of Angkor and actively explores the magic of the Greater Angkor Historical Park.

Smiling Albino has been working closely with Indochine Exploration to create a cohesive vision, synchronize management systems, provide marketing support and develop new active luxury adventures in Cambodia. The partnership is ideal due to a shared vision for creating custom experiential adventures and the mutual belief in responsible tourism.

Fraser explains why ICE was a natural partner for Smiling Albino: “We’ve been associates with the ICE team for years, and their active, out-of-the-box approach suits our style, and we share a vision to show travelers a different side of Cambodia.”

While Butler welcomes the new partnership: “Cambodia is a stunningly beautiful country best appreciated by taking that small cycle path off the main road that leads to a secret lake or a lost temple. We welcome this collaboration with Smiling Albino to enhance these experiences and expose more visitors to the Cambodia less seen.”

A selection of jointly developed active day trips around Siem Reap have already proven to be popular with discerning Smiling Albino guests. Adventures further afield are being developed as you read this, in the jungles of the Northwest spotting gibbons, discovering the vibrant life of Phnom Penh or finding a secret haven for birds just ten kilometres from Siem Reap.
