Mayor of Woollahra, Councillor Toni Zeltzer and her Councillors were welcomed by Royal Hotels Australia Pty. Ltd. for a progress update and site inspection of the InterContinental Sydney Double Bay.

Scheduled to open in November, 2014, the 140-room hotel will be the fifth InterContinental Hotel for Australia. The InterContinental Sydney Double Bay will be Sydney’s newest luxury and only five-star property outside the CBD.

“The refurbishment of the hotel will see the reinstatement of key features including a pillarless Grand Ballroom for up to 360 guests (banquet style) and flexible meeting spaces as well as the creation of new spaces – the rooftop infinity pool and lounge, a destination concept bar and restaurant and the only separate kosher kitchen in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs,” said Frederic Brohez, General Manager, InterContinental Sydney Double Bay.

Mayor Zeltzer and her Councillors were pleased with the progress of the hotel.

“We are so pleased to welcome the InterContinental Group to Double Bay, their reputation for excellence and a high standard of service will be a wonderful asset for our local community,” said Mayor Zeltzer.

“Having a luxury hotel in Double Bay will actively revitalise the Double Bay commercial centre and draw interest from international and domestic tourists, “she said.
