The Conference Shop, an innovative website, assisting conference organisers to discover, plan and connect with Regional NSW and the ACT, hosted a group of ten business clients at its’ recent Southern Highlands famil who, thanks to a cold snap, were surprised to find a winter wonderland on arrival!
During the two day tour, attendees were treated, not only to the delicious local food and wine but were also introduced to a variety of local suppliers, some entertaining team building activities and given an exclusive sneak peak of the 5* refurbishment underway at one of the area’s most popular venues.
The Southern Highlands, 90 minutes from Canberra and Sydney is a perfect destination for corporate events. Brimming with a mix of unique and branded venues, it offers sophisticated country hospitality that is both warm and inviting.
Carla Offord, CEO comments ‘Our famil program is instrumental in showcasing the fantastic venues, attractions and suppliers operating in regional NSW and the ACT. Building awareness is the key to reigniting the interest in and the excitement about, the untapped potential of regional conferencing and what better way to do it than taking our clients to their preferred destination and giving them a comprehensive guided tour’.
She adds ‘Our clients were able to spend one on one time with the operators in the Southern Highlands, ask questions and share a drink. It is a personal way of doing business that achieves results. Client feedback has also indicated that most of them were not familiar with the venues we introduced them to or the suppliers so it was a real education for them.”
Candi Wallis from Allergan , an attendee of the famil said ‘Thank you for an action-packed, professionally organized famil. I learnt so much and thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone, it was great fun.’ Katrina Dawson of Komatsu Australia Pty Ltd added, ‘If you want to know where the hidden secrets of the Southern Highlands are then contact The Conference Shop, you will be thankful you did! ‘
