Sofitel So Bangkok is proud to announce the newest addition to the hotel’s management team – General Manager, Yves Mudry.

On his new role, Yves comments:

“I feel excited and privileged to have the opportunity to helm one of Bangkok’s most exciting urban design hotels. In a relatively short period of time, the hotel has already attained an impressive reputation for embodying the Sofitel So’s design uniqueness and the tech-savvy services offered to guests. Along with my team, I look forward to carrying on this tradition of creating stellar experiences by keeping the hotel offerings fresh and relevant as we enter chapter two of the Sofitel So Bangkok story book.”

Immediately after graduating from the prestigious École hôtelière de Lausanne, Yves moved to Southeast Asia in 1997. To date, he has accrued more than 16 years of hospitality experience with Le Méridien hotels in Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, 10 of which were in a General Manager capacity. His most recent posting in Asia was at Le Méridien Saigon as pre-opening General Manager.

While this is his first General Manager posting in Bangkok, Yves is no stranger to Thailand, having done previous stints in the Thai capital, Koh Samui, and Chiang Mai, including a role as opening General Manager of Le Méridien Chiang Mai.

His illustrious professional experience spans five star hospitality and service industry management, and Yves has gained solid experience in all aspects, including brand re-launches and project development management, from construction to handover.

A Swiss national, Yves is fluent in French and English, competent in German. He also has working knowledge of Thai and Bahasa Indonesian.

Complementing his passion for hospitality, he is also interested in culture and arts, while during his downtime you will often find him enjoying a jog or teeing off at a golf course.

Yves fills the role recently vacated by Gilles Cretallaz, who has taken on a corporate challenge with the Accor group as Vice President of operations, looking after Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, and Grand Mercure properties in six Southeast Asian countries. Of his three years at Sofitel So Bangkok and his incoming successor, outgoing General Manager Gilles says:

“I would like to thank all So fans for your amazing support – from the very beginning to this day. It has been a wonderful journey alongside my exceptional team of talent. Yves is a very good friend of mine, and with his wealth of experience, he will definitely bring this hotel to the new heights and do us proud!’
