Charcoal Tandoor Grill & Mixology is Soho Hospitality’s latest F&B development project focused on signature kebabs and craft cocktails. The restaurant’s interior concept is based on an edgy industrial design with recycled timber-clad columns, brick walls and a perforated metal ceiling with Indian Jallee patterns commonly found in mosques across India.
Soho Hospitality’s Managing Director, Rohit Sachdev, and Business Development Manager, Philipp Weigel, traveled to the awards ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur to accept the prestigious award. Rohit spoke of his delight at winning the award: “On behalf of Soho Hospitality and our hard-working team, I would like to thank Asia Pacific Property Award 2015 for bestowing this fantastic award on Charcoal. The award recognizes the creativity and innovation that has gone into Charcoal’s industrial interiors and overall design concept, and is a mark of excellence for Soho Hospitality as we grow our business across the region.”
Charcoal Tandoor Grill & Mixology was completed in Q4 2014, and launched earlier this year. A 74-seat restaurant in extremely spacious configuration, Charcoal welcomes with a windowed Tandoori kitchen and ovens inspired by the 18th century desert clay cooking style.
Soho Hospitality is currently engaged in various projects across the region including the renovation of the Mövenpick Resort and Spa in Phuket and a 300 room serviced apartment in Kuala Lumpur, a rooftop bar for Taj Hotels in Chennai, a nightclub for Starwood in Coimbatore and a Mango Tree Bistro in Bangalore.
