Songbei Shangri-La, Harbin: Shangri-La’s Newest Hotel in China Debuts in December 2016

Set to unveil its second hotel in Harbin, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts today announced Songbei Shangri-La, Harbin is scheduled for a December 2016 opening.  Occupying a prime position on the edge of the Songhua River’s north bank, the 344-room property will offer surrounding river and city views.


The new modern icon of luxury and elegance will grace the skyline of Songbei’s business district that is in the heart of a vibrant city.  With the modern traveller in mind, Songbei Shangri-La, Harbin will feature 33 executive serviced apartments and is conveniently located a mere five-minute drive from Harbin’s internationally renowned ice festival at the Ice & Snow World, and close to local attractions namely the Sun Island Garden, Siberian Tiger Park and Harbin Great Theatre.  The international airport and Harbin West Railway Station are 40 minutes and 30 minutes away respectively.

Surrounding guests with a high level of comfort and privacy are guest rooms and apartments ranging from 42 to 178 square metres.  Serenely appointed in tranquil hues and bespoke artwork, all-encompassing views of the city and river are framed within the floor-to-ceiling windows.  Mood lighting, quality linen and luxury amenities will be available in addition to a Horizon Club Lounge and dedicated guest floors to offer personalised concierge service and benefits.

Sophisticated and innovative dining options include Shang Kitchen, an upscale Chinese restaurant for Peking roast duck, earthen casserole dishes and regional specialties.  Café Song, an all-day dining restaurant is a theatre concept of open kitchens serving Asian and Western favourites, while Grab & Go will provide a selection of gourmet pub food for take away.  The Lobby Lounge will serve classic high tea and refreshments throughout the day and De Drunk’n Pig will be perfect for entertaining and live music in the evening.

Catering to prestigious conferences and banquets are the hotel’s extensive meeting facilities including Songbei’s largest pillar-less ballroom, which covers 1,616 square metres and seats up to 1,000 guests for receptions.  An additional ballroom at 408 square metres and two function rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
