The Sonoma-Cutrer® winery visitor experience has undergone a major renovation and is re-opening its doors with a modernized tasting room and grand re-opening event. Nestled in Sonoma County, Calif., Sonoma-Cutrer is known for producing world-class, handcrafted Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, so having a visitor center and guest experience to reflect the quality of the wines was a natural transformation for the winery.
On Saturday, June 20 from11am-4pm Sonoma-Cutrer will officially open its doors at the Grand Re-Opening event at the winery. Guests are invited to see the new look of the tasting room while enjoying award-winning wines, local fare and the chance to meet winemaking masters.
“After months of renovations we are thrilled to re-open our doors to our loyal fans to enjoy Sonoma-Cutrer and the exciting changes we have to offer,” said hospitality manager Mark Elcombe. “Visitors will experience the quality and craftsmanship of Sonoma-Cutrer wines unlike ever before.”
The hospitality operation has been updated and expanded to a space three times larger with a contemporary tasting room design. Part of the expansion includes a one-of-a-kind, custom island tasting bar in the main tasting room which sits nestled near an oversized fireplace. Three private tasting rooms will be used to host personalized tastings and events.
Guests will now more than ever get the ultimate visitor experience with a covered patio space on the terrace and window seating with views of the picturesque croquet courts and vineyards of the Sonoma County winery. Also, visitors will now have the chance to enjoy an expanded retail space that will offer a variety of unique wine and lifestyle items. Guests can take part in a more casual walk-in wine tasting, privately hosted wine experiences such as winemaker-hosted trainings, wine and food pairings, as well as our popular vineyard and winery tours.
Additionally, Sonoma-Cutrer plans to offer more events on the 400 acre estate that embrace the wine country lifestyle such as harvest lunches and an artisan educational series. New croquet events such as full moon croquet and haunted croquet will be a major attraction while the traditional Chardonnay and Croquet events will continue.
Sonoma-Cutrer has been crafting wines since 1981 in the esteemed Russian River Valley growing region of Sonoma County, California. Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards utilizes proprietary cooling tunnels designed specifically to preserve the highest quality grapes, and the wines are aged in barrels made of specific French oak trees that are individually-selected to the winemakers’ needs.
