The most glamorous estate on Bintan Island, The Sanchaya has unveiled a compelling programme of festive activity to see out 2019 in style. Located just 50 minutes away from Singapore, the colonial-inspired property has an understated stately home atmosphere; an intimate place to spend the holidays surrounded by loved ones.

Kicking off the week of Christmas, The Sanchaya will host a unique Champagne and caviar tasting on the 21st and 29th December. Produced in crystal-clear Nordic waters in Finland’s North Carelia water district, the luxurious oscietra boasts perfectly balanced texture, aroma and flavour, and is 100% natural and sustainable.

On Christmas Eve, Estate Manager Magnus Olovson will host a cocktail and canapés reception in the ambient bar area, followed by a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. Christmas Day will see a dynamic showcase of activity, with optional private Wine & Cheese Discovery sessions, whereby Estate Sommelier, Jeroen L’abée, will introduce guests to a world-class collection of award-winning wines, expertly paired with a selection of international cheeses – from Port-Infused Stilton and Camembert au Calvados, to truffled Brie and Vacherin Mont D’or. Alternatively, guests can enjoy a friendly croquet tournament on the estate’s immaculate lawns, before cooling down with fresh strawberries and Provence Rosé.

By far the most glamorous event of the year, The Sanchaya’s New Year’s Eve Promenade Dinner will be an evening of indulgence, with live entertainment and an impressive firework display to mark the stroke of midnight. Beginning with a soulful saxophonist, the music tempo will increase throughout the evening, with renowned DJ, Patrick Oliver, returning to the estate to transport guests into the New Year. Designed to allow guests the opportunity to dance and mingle, the evening will have a fluid and climatic atmosphere, with live food stations offering a range of dishes throughout the estate. An optional free flow beverage package includes sommelier selected red, white, and sparkling discovery wines.

To kick off 2020 in style and continue the party atmosphere into the New Year, on 1st January, the estate will host an extravagant Recovery Brunch, complete with a Bloody Mary station, free flow bubbles and relaxing beats from DJ Patrick Oliver from 10:30am – 1pm. A menu of breakfast-inspired dishes, including fresh Crepes and Eggs Benedict will be on offer for guests to enjoy on the terrace.

The nonchalant elegance of The Sanchaya lends itself to both intimate and larger group getaways throughout the season; the private estate atmosphere balances serenity and energy in contrast to larger, impersonal hotels. Younger visitors will be kept entertained with screenings of traditional Christmas movies and encouraged to unleash their inner creative as they learn to make their very own Gingerbread Houses.

In addition to the line-up of gourmet events, The Sanchaya will be offering special spa packages from 18th December, including festive scrubs created by the Spa Manager and a complimentary glass of bubbles after each treatment.
