South Africa Trip a Double Win for G Adventures with South African Tourism

G Adventures experienced unprecedented growth in travellers to Africa at the end of 2015, with bookings increasing 27 per cent during November and December.

The growth came off the back of a joint incentive with South African Tourism that saw a group of independent agent partners vying for a place on a G Adventures’ trip of a lifetime.

The nine agents represented the top sellers of G Adventures product along with randomly picked agents for the months of November and December and were rewarded with flights and a place on G Adventures brand new National Geographic Journey, Explore Kruger National Park.

The adventure travel company notified the winning group of agents in January and they have just returned from the South African trip, more inspired than ever to sell African product to their customers.

The seven-day tour, departing from Johannesburg, saw agents explore the Greater Kruger area, getting to know the kids at the G Adventures-supported Children’s Day School and, of course, spotting all of the Big Five up close and in person on safari game drives.

Global Purpose Specialist (GPS) Dan Coleman accompanied the agents and said the level of excitement and enthusiasm on the trip was contagious.

“Every single agent was so excited to get out there and experience the culture, wildlife, cuisine and amazing scenery that South Africa has to offer. It really was an incredible trip and was topped off by seeing all the animals in the Big Five. You can’t ask for more than that,” Dan said.

Agents said the highlight of the trip was seeing two leopard cubs playing up close near the group on safari.

G Adventures Managing Director Adrian Piotto said these agent incentives and famils were a great way to reward hard working agents.

“We love sending our agents on the trips they sell every day and were even more excited this time around, sending agents on one of our brand new National Geographic Journeys trips. We will definitely look to continue these incentives and continue to reward our loyal agents.”
