Following the 2012 acquisition of the South America Travel Centre, managing director Alex Burridge has launched the Antarctica Travel Centre – the first ever dedicated Australian Antarctica Travel specialist.

Burridge said “the Antarctica Travel Centre is to Antarctica what the South America Travel Centre is to South America – a true specialist. Our team of experts has years of experience, in-depth knowledge and a real passion for Antarctica, the Falkland Islands and South Georgia.”

Whilst Antarctic voyages cannot be tailor-made, as the South America Travel Centre does for all its clients, the Antarctica Travel Centre team has the expertise to understand which voyage, ship, cabin and time to go will best suit individual client’s requirements.  Burridge says “unlike operators we’re not obliged to sell a limited range of ships – irrespective of the client’s needs.  We have selected a number of ships in four categories; Luxury, Expedition, Fly-Cruise and Affordable that we know, trust and are confident will deliver a ‘holiday of a lifetime’ for our clients.” Working with the South America Travel Centre, the Antarctica team is able to tailor the best pre and post travel arrangements throughout South America to fit with their client’s Antarctica travel plans.

Prior to taking over the South America Travel Centre, Burridge headed up Polar Operations, Sales & Marketing at Peregrine Adventures. He first ventured to the White Continent and his favourite destination of South Georgia, in 2000 and considers himself extremely fortunate to have returned many times. Burridge is also a passionate advocate for Albatross conservation. During his time at Peregrine, he helped raise in excess of $600,000 for Albatross conversation projects, much of which went towards helping develop a bait-setting capsule, developed by Doctor Graham Robertson of the Australian Antarctic Division.

Antarctica Travel Centre is a member of the Independent Association of Antarctic Tour Operators (IAATO).

Departures for the Antarctic 2014/15 season are available with early booking incentives of up to 25%. See website  for full terms and conditions.
