Yorke Peninsula’s Yondah Beach House was named Australia’s best deluxe accommodation and Pindarie Cellar Door in the Barossa was named Australia’s best tourism winery at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards in Adelaide last night.
Yondah Beach House triumphed over other deluxe accommodation providers including Avalon Coastal Retreat in Tasmania and Macquarie Waters Boutique Apartment Hotel in New South Wales.
Pindarie Cellar Door is celebrating its second consecutive national win and beat some tough competition from around the country, including Margan Wines in New South Wales and James Boag’s Brewery in Tasmania.
Six other South Australian tourism businesses were also awarded five silver medals and one bronze medal recognising the amazing contribution they make to the State:
Silver – Barossa Visitor Centre (Visitor Information and Services)
Silver – SeaLink Ferries, Tours & Holiday Packages (Major Tour &/or Transport Operator)
Silver – Rawnsley Park Station Eco-Villas (Unique Accommodation)
Silver – The Frames (New Tourism Development)
Silver – The Barossa Council (Local Government Award for Tourism)
Bronze – Udder Delights Cheese Cellar (Food Tourism)
