Just short of 100,000 visitors have enjoyed Sovereign Hill’s Christmas in July: Winter Wonderlights event.

The three-week event transformed the outdoor museum into a Christmas Wonderland, with this year’s event one of the largest staged in Sovereign Hill’s 49-year history.

Visitors from all over enjoyed theatre performances, joined in Christmas themed arts and crafts, stocked up on traditional Christmas decorations, danced in the faux snow and watched the Winter Wonderlights.

The event continues to see large benefits for the region, with Ballarat accommodation occupancy high throughout the event period.

– 46 hours of Christmas Carols performed by a Brass Band

– 116 Confectionary Demonstrations

– 144 giant baubles and 46 huge bows sparkle on the 9-metre high Christmas tree

– 9,000 Candles Dipped

– 144 Theatre Performances

– Over 216 hours of Coach Rides

– 14,000 Toffee Apples dipped

– 17,871 Lollipops eaten

– 10,000 Raspberry Drop Wagon Wheels made
