Spa Wellness Travel encourages people to enhance or maintain their happiness and wellbeing and knows that everyone is deserving of a little signature service at least once, if not annually. The latest signature service creation is ‘Revive–a breast cancer–Retreat’. This retreat allows women who’ve been touched by breast cancer the opportunity to remove themselves from their regular home life routine, gain confidence and feel revived after having been through the ordeal of dealing with breast cancer.
The retreat starts with a scenic transfer to remote north-east Bali, where the luxury of a private single room accommodation awaits at the Spa Village Tembok Bali. The four days here will be filled with spa treatments, wholesome cuisine, wellness activities including yoga, meditation, beach walks and soft adventure excursions; climbing a mountain to watch a sunrise, to snorkelling clear ocean waters and swimming in waterfalls. The concluding night’s stay is at the uniquely designed eco lodgings of Bambu Indah, which will involve a guided nature walk, a sunset dinner, a morning Bali blessing and lunch with the team at John Hardy jewellery.
This retreat goes beyond giving the participating women the opportunity to be in a supportive and positive environment. Having friends in Bali, Spa Wellness Travel has discovered that the women in Bali who have been affected by breast cancer are not as fortunate as women in Australia. The comfort of a mastectomy or surgery bra or prosthesis is not so common or accessible to the women in Bali or further abroad in Indonesia.
To extend the support for women affected by breast cancer, the Revive-a breast cancer-Retreat will be taking donated mastectomy and surgery bras and prosthesis to Bali Pink Ribbon. Monies will also be donated from the guided nature walk at Bambu Indah and an invitation extended to the residences of Bali to participate.
The five-night Revive-a breast cancer-Retreat that commences on 11 September in Bali, will be escorted by Karen Goudge, the founder of Spa Wellness Travel. Since 2007, she has been diagnosed twice with breast cancer. “It, breast cancer is an experience that we could all do without. Like any other unforeseen tragedy in life, when it strikes, it cannot be ignored. Dealing with the diagnosis, the treatments, our relationships and regaining the momentum of life, is all time consuming and can its toll and affect us physically, mentally and emotionally. That’s why Revive – a breast cancer – Retreat has been created” says Goudge.
