From Thursday 26 July to Sunday 29 July, Britain’s Ocean City Plymouth and its close neighbour South East Cornwall will be awash with music, creativity and culture when some of the biggest names in art and music gather to rock The Sound at MTV Presents: Ocean City Sounds and create Summer magic down by The River Lynher at Port Eliot Festival.

Leading the line up at MTV presents: Ocean City Sounds on July 26 & 27 will be Bastille and Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra, who will perform on Plymouth Hoe, powering out their epic rock and dance tracks across the spectacular seascape of Plymouth Sound.

For fans of honey-kissed grooves, Pete Tong and Heritage Orchestra conductor Jules Buckley will deliver serious sundowner beats with their Ibiza Classics show, a 90 minute audio-visual spectacle that sees huge dance tracks performed in an entirely new way, with a laser light show and a 65-piece orchestra. Pete will be joined for two songs by Becky Hill. The Ocean City Sounds line-up also includes DJ sets from Tom Findlay (one half of Groove Armada) and BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard as well as Ella Eyre, Professor Green and r3Wire and Varski.

Meanwhile, from July 25-29, just across the water on the beautiful The River Lynher, at St Germans, the UK’s hippest boutique arts and music festival, Port Eliot Festival will be showcase a glittering line up of the best of UK and undiscovered bands

Tong said: “I’m looking forward to bringing the Ibiza Classics show to Plymouth with Jules Buckley and the Heritage Orchestra. It’s our only South West tour date and we’re going to make it a night to remember.”

For those wishing to make a weekend of it, a range of interesting and gorgeous accommodation under the stars is available at Port Eliot on https://porteliotfestival.com/info/boutique-camping/ or to stay in and around Plymouth go to VisitPlymouth.com.

And if you’re headed into Plymouth, MTV Presents partner, Drake Circus, the South West’s leading shopping destination, will have caught festival fever with a flower meadow vibe, discounted parking and great deals and offers on food and festival fashion.

Last year Port Eliot sold out early, and Ocean City Sounds Tickets are selling fast, so snap up tickets now. So if you’re looking for a great way to start the Summer, Plymouth and South East Cornwall are the place to be.
