If you’re looking for advice on how to be the very best you can be, who better to ask than someone who has conquered the world…seven times.
That’s precisely what Travellers Choice members are doing next month when they welcome Layne Beachley, the most successful female surfer in history, to their award-winning network’s Annual Shareholders’ Conference.
An inductee in the Sport Australia Hall of Fame, Beachley won seven world titles before she retired from surfing’s World Tour and took her daunting skills and experience into the boardroom. She is now the first female Chair of Surfing Australia, director of her own charitable foundation, and an ambassador for organisations such as The National Breast Cancer Foundation and Planet Ark.
Travellers Choice Managing Director Christian Hunter says Beachley is a rare breed.
“Her personal achievements are astounding and demonstrate the kind of sustained success someone can accomplish through sheer dedication and determination,” says Hunter.
“But just as inspiring is her commitment to helping others achieve their best, whether it be in sport or business, by passing on what she has learned in a way that is entertaining and relatable.”
This year’s Shareholders’ Conference will also feature Samantha Taranto, a renowned expert on customer experience strategy who has helped transform some of Australia’s leading property, aviation and hospitality companies.
As Executive Manager Customer Experience at Qantas, Taranto was pivotal in helping the national carrier strengthen its customer loyalty by ensuring the company delivered on its customer promise. She has since led customer strategy with GPT Group Sydney and The Plumm Group, and is currently NRMA’s Executive General Manager Motoring.
More than 250 delegates will attend this year’s Travellers Choice Shareholders’ Conference, which takes place from 18-20 November at the National Convention Centre, Canberra’s largest purpose-built meetings and events venue.
As well as hearing from a line-up of high-calibre guest speakers the event incorporates the Company’s Annual General Meeting. As the sole shareholders in the Company, Travellers Choice members not only share in the company’s financial success, which this year included a fourth consecutive record profit, they also help shape the national network’s strategic direction.
