Sri Lanka’s Salt House Offers More

July 1, 2016 Hotel News No Comments Email Email

June 2016 marks the 12-month anniversary of Sri Lankan property, Salt House, Hiriketiya. In those months, Australian couple Rob Dixon and Cristal Napper have taken this cool and casual beach B&B to a number one ranking property in the uber cool, fast becoming area of Hiriketiya. Hiriketiya is otherwise known as Blue Beach, Horseshoe Bay, or to these adventurous new business owners ‘Hiri’s”.

Sri Lanka is well known for its stunning beaches, amazing highlands and culture oozing from every province. Add to that Salt House on the south coast, a property that lives up to expectations. Cristal Napper (@miss_hiriketiya) has bought Yoga to the bay and guests can enjoy morning classes amongst the coconut palms and jungle canopy. Learn to surf is available in the stunning bay all year round, and a mountain bike adventure through the village trails is a must.

Salt House features six rooms, three of which are air-conditioned on the ground floor with private courtyards and three open plan jungle view rooms on the second floor. The top floor is where Salt House stands head and shoulders above the rest. A casual lounge and dining areas provides 360 degree views of the jungle and ocean. With such stunning views the short 50m walk to the beach sometimes seems too much.

Western super foods and smoothies are now creeping into the menu thanks to the support of Australian Guest-Chef Chris Devlin. These healthy treats help balance against the newly launched pizza and burger bar which takes inspiration from the likes of Grilled, Edge & Furg Burger.

“We’ve been so excited to bring fresh new ideas of food, and fun to the south of Sri Lanka. This is such a beautiful part of the world and we believe food goes hand in hand with fun. We have had such brilliant feedback from guests; it really is amazing,” Cristal Napper said.

If you are looking for an unbeatable beach escape, a large holiday home for a winter getaway, or somewhere to host a remote retreat group, then Salt House has ticked every box.

Prices start from $80USD in the Low Season (May to July 31) and $100USD in Peak Season (Dec 20 to Jan 31). Pay 3 stay 5, staying from June 20, 2016 to July 31st 2016 and Oct 1st to Dec 20th 2016. Travel agents can book direct, with rates commissionable at 15%.
