Following a $4 million upgrade, Hilton Brisbane unveiled its newly renovated conference and events space on Wednesday 19 October with an exclusive event for Professional Conference Organisers (PCO). As the in-house AV and event services partner, Staging Connections supported the redevelopment of the event space with upgraded sound, lighting and other audiovisual technology and produced a dazzling launch party for 25 PCO guests.
Chris Partridge, General Manager, Hilton Brisbane commented on the technology upgrades across the events and conferencing space.
“We are particularly delighted by the amazing lighting features in the Grand Ballroom and throughout the event spaces. As Hilton Brisbane celebrates 30 years of hospitality, our location in the heart of the CBD, and accessibility to transport combined with the continued renewal of the hotel ensures this iconic property remains the city’s premium conference and event hotel, and is as relevant today as it was in 1986,” said Mr Partridge.
For the launch event, Staging Connections were tasked with creating an intimate environment for 25 special guests in the Grand Ballroom complete with audio, vision, lighting, multimedia and styling, themed to enhance the presentation of the new menu prepared by renowned Chef, Hueman Lam.
Suspended centrepieces made from Singapore orchids, moss and tea lights encased in votives and decorative fleur dividers were used to create a beautiful atmosphere while table centrepieces used dry ice and multilevel displays to generate an exciting focal point. Warm plum and copper lighting accentuated the colour palette and custom multimedia content featured animated graphics on screens hung around the room.
Michael Curran, Venue Services Manager, Staging Connections explains how the event showcased the new features of the Grand Ballroom while creating an intimate experience for guests.
“In the recently upgraded Grand Ballroom we blended lighting, dividers, custom multimedia and decorative styling to create the illusion of intimacy while still showcasing the expansive event space.
“Our team created a remarkable environment for 25 guests within an expansive ballroom that can fit up to 1,000; it was a stellar result,” said Mr Curran.
The Hilton Brisbane invested $700,000 in 2015 to rejuvenate its pool terrace and Victoria’s Meeting room and has committed nearly $14 million over the last five years to create an oasis of style in the middle of Brisbane’s inner-city bustle.
