Starwood Hotels & Resorts Invites The Public To ‘Run For Children’ In Aid Of Unicef

Starwood Hotels & Resorts invites members of the public to participate in its  9th‘Run for Children’ 10km mini marathon, a fund-raising challenge in aid of UNICEF on Sunday, 22 September 2013 at 6:00 a.m. at Suan Luang Ror 9.

The race is divided into 6 categories namely those below 19 years, followed by 20 – 29 years, 30 – 39 years, and 40 – 49 years for both male and female participants.  The remaining age groups are divided into over 50 years for females, and 50 – 59 years and over 60 years for males.

The winner of each category will receive a trophy and an accommodation voucher from Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Thailand worth over THB 6,000, while runners placed 2nd – 5th of all categories will receive trophies and dinner vouchers valued at THB 2,500 each.  Furthermore, the first 1,000 runners to complete the 10km will receive souvenir and all participants will stand an opportunity to win dinner and accommodation vouchers in a lucky draw from XX Starwood properties in Thailand.

The 9th ‘Run for Children’ 10km mini marathon is part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts unique global partnership with UNICEF ‘Check Out for Children’. For more than 15 years, Starwood Hotels & Resorts with help of its guests and associates around the world have raised more than USD 30 million for UNICEF. Funds raised through ‘UNICEF Check Out for Children’ and ‘Run for Children’ go towards UNICEF’s Education Program to ensure every child around the world can access quality education through various initiatives to improve school facilities, train teachers, supply school equipment as well as campaigning to ensure children stay at school.
