Stayz, Australia’s original holiday rental website, has today revealed the 2019 finalists for its Holiday Home of the Year Awards, with the breathtaking properties spread across six Aussie states.

The list of finalists reveals New South Wales as home to an impressive seven out of the 24 properties, followed by five in Victoria, four in Queensland, three in both South Australia and Western Australia, and two in Tasmania.

This year’s awards, which find and recognise Australia’s best holiday homes, are split into four separate categories; Design, Pet Friendly, Unique and Family Friendly. The winners across each category will be announced in mid-October, as judged by interiors royalty and General Manager of Foxtel’s Lifestyle group of channels, Wendy Moore, and the young winner of Stayz’ junior judge competition, Ruby Parker.

The Aussie public can also get involved in the judging process by heading to www.stayz.com.au/awards to vote for their favourite holiday home amongst the list of finalists. The most voted for property will be crowned the 2019 People’s Choice. State pride isn’t the only thing on the line, with all votes entered into the draw to win a $1,000 travel voucher* towards their next Stayz adventure.

NSW based holiday homes are represented in the list of finalists across all categories and also account for one-third of homes in the Unique category, while properties located in Victoria make up half of the entire Family Friendly category. Properties featured in the list of finalists across the board include everything from a Byron Bay beach house to a contemporary Avon Valley ‘art shack’ to a tropical treehouse in Port Douglas.

“We’d like to congratulate all of the property owners whose amazing holiday homes have made the list of finalists for 2019,” says Simone Scoppa, Head of PR for Stayz. “With over 55,000 properties across Australia available on the Stayz website, it’s no mean feat making it to the top 24, so they should all be very proud.”

The finalists were selected based on a range of criteria such as quality of images accompanying their Stayz listing, standard of guest reviews and holiday home description, as well as category-specific criteria.

Judge, Wendy Moore, shares insights into what she will be looking for to award the ultimate winners of each category of the Stayz Holiday Home of the Year Awards. “Holiday homes are for relaxing, having a new experience with friends and family and making lifelong memories. You want the features of the home to help facilitate this, so I will be looking for the extra special touches as well as jaw-dropping design and interiors, of course!” says Wendy.

The winners of each category as well as the People’s Choice will be announced on www.stayz.com.au/awards  on 16th October 2019.
