Stellar Entertainment, the leading full-content service provider in the Asia Pacific region, is celebrating 40 years in the industry with a new, purpose-built, AUD$2 million office headquarters, including production studios, located within Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park.
Rob Lynch, Founder of Stellar Entertainment, said the move to the new premises was a significant milestone for the already well-established business.
“Our new facilities signify our longevity in the content production industry, and our investment and commitment to the region and our locally-based clients. It was a natural progression and the right time to make this transition. As a company, we had grown and developed dramatically and, as part of the move, we consolidated two office locations into one.”
Stellar Group is a full-content service provider, delivering and managing on board entertainment services via end-to-end solutions across all media, including green screen technology, recording and post-production services, and technologies and formats on board aircrafts.
“We had very clear ideas about what we wanted to achieve from the space – to continue to meet our high standards for the future of the business and to push the boundaries in our industry. As a result, we now have our full-suite of services under one roof, in a great space, in the best location for us,” said Lynch.
Created by co-founder Helen Lynch and interior designer, Sean Yap who specialises in modern, edgy concepts for spaces including hotels, offices, restaurants and shopping centres in Asia, Stellar’s new office meets the needs of its growing team. Stellar had previously engaged Yap in the design of the Kuala Lumpur facility.
“The new headquarters is exactly what we wanted. As well as a large open plan working space facing a wall of windows, there are several private offices, meeting rooms, a boardroom, state-of-the-art recording and production facilities, a break-out area with a pool table, a stunning reception and seating area, a galley kitchen and a large balcony. All the fixtures and furniture are new, and most have been designed and custom made exclusively for this space.”
“It’s important for people to take pride in their working environment and enjoy spending time there, and this space does just that. We had several meetings with members of staff to create a wish list before the design process began. Natural light was a must – windows so everyone can see what’s happening in the outside world, plus well-designed lighting too. We also offer space to relax, so employees can leave their desk, even if it’s just for a few minutes.
Colour was also very important to us. Offices don’t have to be grey – colour has an enormous effect on mood and productivity,” said Lynch. “The Entertainment Quarter is the creative hub of film and television, with bars, cafés, restaurants, movies, shopping, sporting facilities, a weekly farmers market, and easy parking. The location also plays a very important part for our business. ”
