Four Points by Sheraton, Melbourne Docklands is delighted to announce the appointment of Stephen Ferrigno as General Manager. The hotel is slated to open on March, 2017.
As General Manager, Stephen will oversee the pre-launch activity, ensuring the hotel opens to a high standard and on brand. In this role, he will be responsible for all management functions and day-to-day operations, including the recruitment of a team of 180. Stephen will also be instrumental in marketing the hotel and driving pre-bookings in both business and leisure segments.
“I am honoured to be a part of the opening team for Four Points by Sheraton, Melbourne Docklands,” said Stephen Ferrigno. “I started my career as a porter for a new hotel and know from experience that a strong team of associates, who work well together, is essential for a successful opening. Consequently, I’m looking forward to starting the recruitment process and establishing a winning culture amongst the team.
“Four Points by Sheraton, Melbourne Docklands has enormous potential and my goal over the next year is to exceed the expectations of both our guests and our owner,” Stephen added.
With over 20 years’ experience working for Marriott International, which recently completed its merger transaction of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Stephen brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He is returning to Melbourne, after nine years as General Manager for the recent Sheraton Noosa Resort & Spa, where he successfully led the hotel’s refurbishment and subsequently drove the hotel to record gross operating profits.
Prior to this, Stephen was Hotel Manager for Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Darling Harbour – Australia’s largest hotel by room number – before being appointed General Manager of Four Points by Sheraton, Geelong, Victoria.
As General Manager for Four Points by Sheraton, Melbourne Docklands, Stephen will report into Sean Hunt, Area Vice President, Australia, New Zealand & Pacific, Marriott International.
“Stephen brings valuable experience to Four Points by Sheraton, Melbourne Docklands that will play a key role in the successful opening of the hotel,” said Sean Hunt. “His background working for Marriott International’s flagship hotels in the Pacific means guests can expect the arrival of a leading hotel offering high levels of customer service.”
