‘Suan Bua’, Centara Hotels & Resorts’ signature Thai restaurant brand, is soon to make its first appearance in Doha. Centara Grand West Bay Hotel Doha, opening in 2016, will be the Thai company’s latest flagship property, based in the newly-developed West Bay district.
Centara Hotels & Resorts is known internationally for its focus on world-class dining and they have perfected their own recipe of authentic tastes and excellent service over the years at their in-house Suan Bua restaurants.
Meaning “lotus garden” in Thai, ‘Suan Bua’ has been a key component of Centara’s success since 1983, when the company’s first property in Centara Grand Ladprao Bangkok Thailand opened. The venue quickly became known for assiduous service and the innovative presentation of authentic Thai cuisine.
A typical Suan Bua menu is a delectable combination of Thai home-style cuisine and regional specialities ranging beyond the internationally-recognizable Southern-style curries and fish dishes through to the milder mix of traditional and contemporary tastes of the north and central parts of Thailand, and of course the tangy and spicy flavours of North-Eastern Thailand cuisine. Guests can sample rare dishes and herbs that are often only available at local outlets, such as deep-fried shrimp with green mango salad, stir-fried chicken with bell peppers, cashew nuts and dry chilli, and roasted duck in Thai red curry.
The hospitality at and location of Doha’s new Suan Bua restaurant is sure to match the allure of the food itself. Calm, gracious and welcoming, Thai hospitality is a byword for a relaxing yet social meal experience. Centara’s latest Suan Bua’s will be home to not only a menu of authentic Thai culinary delights including Royal Thai cuisine, but will also feature contemporary Thai design elements, with cosy yet elegant furnishings, indoor and outdoor dining sections, and private rooms. Diners will also be able to sample some fresh takes on Thai dining, such as novel Thai-style tapas, and attend Thai cooking classes. The restaurant also will have a comprehensive beverage list, complete with a Thai tea menu, and visitors will be also mesmerized by the unique 3D-effect LCD display, featuring animated maps of Thailand.
Mr. Thirayuth Chirathivat, the CEO of Centara Hotels & Resorts, comments that he is “extremely proud that Centara has been successful in bringing the taste of Thai to international travellers who can explore all that our dishes have to offer.”
