Close to 600 golfers from 24 countries travelled to Thailand in June for yet another successful Centara World Masters Golf Championship.

It was the fifth consecutive year for one of Asia’s biggest amateur golf tournaments and it garnered significant growth in 2018. Hosted by Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin, the week-long celebration of golf, entertainment and fun kicked-off with a glamorous beachside dinner at the iconic Centara property.

Centara’s management team, led by Deputy CEO Markland Blaiklock, and Vice President of Brand, Marketing & Digital Tom Thrussel welcomed golfers and guests and participated in the tournament. During the tournament, the hotel’s 16 acres of manicured gardens, with giant frangipani trees, lotus ponds, hedges and topiaries shaped into rabbits and elephants, transformed into a magnificent entertainment precinct where golfers celebrated into the night.

CEO of Centara Hotels & Resorts Thirayuth Chirathivat said it had been great to see new and returning golfers over the past five years.

“Centara Hotels & Resorts is pleased to be hosting Asia’s leading amateur golf tournament for the fifth successive year and we look forward to meeting a great number of new golfers as well as welcoming back the many familiar faces who attend the event year after year,” Mr Chirathivat said.

The sixth annual Centara World Masters Golf Championship will return to Hua Hin from June 9 -15, 2019.
