Summer special in Paris

August 2, 2016 Hotel Deals No Comments Email Email

egtmedia59Paris is as famous for its small, family run hotels as the Eiffel Tower. Once very basic, most have been seriously upgraded in recent years to cater for more demanding travellers. Stories still abound however about lifts just big enough for one person with a small suitcase, pigeons in the room, sweltering in summer and a breakfast menu restricted to a croissant or two washed down with strong black coffee. A good example of a quality renovated property is the Louison – known as the Aviatic when I stayed there last year. The name might have changed, but guests still enjoy very comfortable air conditioned rooms with facilities including a mini bar. Right now the property, which is right in the heart of the Left Bank between the Luxembourg Garden and Montparnasse, is offering a traditional room plus breakfast from 139e a night. An exec room big enough for a couple and one child is from 179e. The Seine is a short walk away along with some great restaurants and antique shops.
