Australia’s number 1 breakfast show, Sunrise on Channel Seven, is set to broadcast live from the foot of Canada’s world-famous Niagara Falls on Thursday 17th September, as part of Sunrise’s biggest adventure ever.
“Sunrise is broadcasting from five countries in five days and we are ecstatic that Niagara is part of this exciting, whirlwind itinerary,” said Donna Campbell, Managing Director, Destination Canada GSA.
After visiting Dubai, London and New York over three days, Sunrise will arrive in Niagara on Thursday 17thSeptember, before heading to Cancun, Mexico on Friday 18th September.
“Canada has always been a country in our sights but we’ve never managed to get there as an entire production unit until now. Niagara Falls is a bucket list destination so we’re thrilled to be broadcasting from there. I have no doubt it will make for a visually spectacular show,” said Michael Pell, Executive Producer, Sunrise.
Sunrise viewers will witness the spectacular Journey Behind the Falls attraction that offers a unique view of the Falls from below and behind.
“It’s a mind-blowing experience to watch up close as one-fifth of the world’s fresh water crashes down to the basin below,” said Donna. “Niagara Falls is an iconic feature and a must-do for travellers who are amazed by the sheer magnitude of 2800 cubic metres of water of water tumbling over the brink every second.”
Sunrise will venture beyond the Falls into Niagara Parks, home to some of Canada’s finest ice-wineries and historic villages.
“This region of Canada is a foodie heaven and is rich with history and natural beauty. We can’t wait to showcase Niagara’s local characters, nature trails and national historic sites,” said Donna.
