Survey Reveals Sydneysiders Think Of Olympic Park First Among Places In Sydney For Recreation, Sport, Events And Leisure
A survey of more than 1200 Sydneysiders has found Sydney Olympic Park is the top-of-mind venue for recreation, sport, events and leisure.
Almost half (49%) of the survey respondents nominated Sydney Olympic Park for the top-gong, followed by Darling Harbour (30%) and Sydney Opera House (15%).
The web-based independent survey commissioned by Sydney Olympic Park Authority earlier this year (2016) also found that more than half (53%) of Sydney’s population has visited Olympic Park at least once during the past 12 months.
The survey also confirms that Sydney Olympic Park remains one of Sydney’s favourite family destinations, with 55% of those who have visited the Park during the past 12 months accompanied by their partner, and 31% with their children.
Furthermore, 40% of visitors to Olympic Park are accompanied by friends and family from out of town.
When it comes to the most popular reasons for visiting Sydney Olympic Park, the independent survey conducted by Micromex Research found that of all visits during the past year, 41% related to sporting events and 30% to concert events.
Additionally, Sydney Olympic Park’s growing café culture accounts for more than one quarter (26%) of all visits, and its range of children’s playgrounds and the world-renowned Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre are also among the Park’s most popular offerings.
