Starting from today, SWISS deploys the Boeing 777-300ER with brand new cabin products to Hong Kong three times weekly while Airbus 340-300 serves the remainder of the routes SWISS’s capacity on Hong Kong route will increase by more than one fourth by then. Hong Kong is the first Asian destination of SWISS Boeing 777-300ER.
SWISS’s newest flagship Boeing 777-300ER with flight number LX138, arrived at Hong Kong International Airport 16:30pm punctually from Zurich. Together with Hong Kong International Airport, SWISS welcomed the new flagship aircraft with an official water salute and a ribbon cutting ceremony upon landing. Hong Kong, as one of the most important financial centers, is the first Asian destination of this deployment.

The new SWISS Boeing 777-300ER offers 340 seats: eight in First Class, 62 in Business Class and 270 in Economy Class. And the totally-redesigned cabin interior of the new SWISS flagship will provide comfort and aesthetics to meet the most discerning of demands in all three seating classes, including wireless internet connectivity.
To meet travellers’ differing needs, SWISS offers three data packages for its inflight internet option. The 20MB SWISS Connect data package, costing CHF 9, is intended for those wishing to check their emails or visit a few websites; the 50MB package at CHF 19 is more for travellers seeking to surf their social networks or use the internet to work; and the 120MB package at CHF 39 provides even more flexibility and the opportunity to make almost full use (apart from streaming) of the internet’s scope and possibilities. As for the First Class customers, SWISS provides a 50 MB SWISS Connect data package free of charge.
The SWISS First Class seat is transformable into the occupant’s own private suite that includes a 32-inch screen, the largest in the industry. SWISS First Class guests can also enjoy electrically-adjustable window blinds and their own personal wardrobe.
SWISS Business Class offers optimum privacy and freedom of movement, while the seat cushion’s firmness can be individually regulated. SWISS Economy Class guests are able to make use of a self-service kiosk that offers a wide range of drinks and snacks. And thanks to its state-of-the-art engines, the new twinjet has been proven to deliver sizeable savings in both fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.
Besides the brand new cabin products, SWISS extended its culinary partnership with Peninsula Hotel Group for another 2 years until 2018, which means First and Business Class guests on long-haul services to Switzerland can continue to enjoy the culinary creations by Peninsula Hotel Group under the inflight foodservice concept ‘SWISS Taste of Switzerland’.
