Swissôtel Sydney Dresses Up for Melbourne Cup in Style

October 7, 2016 Whats On No Comments Email Email

Swissôtel Sydney is hosting a glamorous Melbourne Cup Luncheon at Crossroads Bar, a contemporary reimagining of the traditional hotel bar, where modern design meets classic style in an open-plan dining area, completed by intimate dining pods and set beneath a glass atrium ceiling which allows views of the city skyline; all part of a recent refurbishment by Sydney-based design firm, CHADA.

Joshua Askew, Executive Chef, has designed a vibrant selection of seasonally inspired canapés, with an emphasis on locally sourced and sustainable ingredients – one of the cornerstones of the Swissôtel dining experience. Guests can expect a wide variety of Australian native produce, including the popular Sydney rock oysters bloody mary shots.

French-born and trained Head Pastry Chef Tracy Allesina is set to unveil a ”race” themed buffet dessert, featuring exquisite pastries and cakes such as horse-shaped lamingtons and Italian horseshoe biscuits.

Guests can enjoy Melbourne Cup festivities between 12:30pm and 3:30pm on Tuesday, 1 November. Special screens will be installed throughout the venue to ensure all guests a prime view of the “race that stops the nation”, and a series of “Best Dressed” prizes will be given away.

The special offer includes a 3-hour beverage package and is available for just $99 per person and $119 for the premium package option.
