Sydney Airport has been shortlisted in the Best Airport/Concessionaire Website and Best Concourse Advertising Campaign categories of The Moodies 2014 digital, mobile and social media awards.

“We’re pleased that the work we’ve done to enhance our digital offering has been recognised by The Moodies awards,” Sydney Airport Chief Executive Officer, Kerrie Mather, said.

“Sydney Airport’s website now includes a mobile site and a simplified Chinese site for our Chinese-speaking passengers.

“We’ve also introduced online travel guides for Australia and overseas, an online retail product guide with a ‘wishlist’ feature and an extensive array of almost 50 online pre-booked parking deals.

“We extend our congratulations to all of the nominees around the world and look forward to the announcement of the award winners.”

In addition, Sydney Airport’s partnership with global foreign exchange specialist Travelex was nominated for Best Concourse Advertising Campaign.

Sydney Airport’s innovative and holistic digital advertising platform helped Travelex to engage with travellers and provide them with relevant information and exclusive offers throughout their airport journey.

The 2013 campaign used various advertising channels, including premium and contextual advertising across the Sydney Airport website, email direct marketing (EDM), push notifications, Passbook offers and co-branding of the airport’s iPhone and Android apps.

The Moodies awards are judged on the following criteria:
  • Quantifiable impact;
  • Customer engagement;
  • Visual appeal;
  • Quality of content;
  • Incentive to spend; and
  • Impact on the traveller experience.
