Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island Appoints Operations Staff

Malu Barrios, General Manager of Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island (SEC@GI), today announced the appointment of the exhibition facilities’ new management team at the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia’s (EEAA) Welcome Reception on Sydney Harbour.

Staff appointments include:

Mr Adrian Slingsby – Manager-Events

Adrian previously worked with Reed Exhibitions and was Manager Event Operations at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre for several years.

Mr Steve Mitsos – Financial Controller

Steve has joined SEC@GI from Darwin Convention Centre, where he worked as Financial Controller since 2011. Prior to that, he was Financial Controller at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre for three years.

Mr Johnny Naofal – Facility Manager

Johnny has spent the past 13 years at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre as Security Manager. He will join SEC@GI in December 2013.

“I am excited to introduce and welcome Adrian, Steve and Johnny to the Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island team,” Ms Barrios said.

“Each individual brings a wealth of experience that will have a positive impact on the successful management and operations of the facility.”

Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island, which opens for its first event in February 2014, will be the interim facility for exhibitions from 2014–16 during the construction of the new world-class convention, exhibition and entertainment facilities at Darling Harbour.
