Air Tahiti Nui’s Tahitian Dreamliner has touched down in Tahiti, with the airline’s first Boeing 787-9 arriving to a warm Polynesian welcome earlier this week.

The new livery was inspired by the beauty and richness of the Polynesian islands, including Air Tahiti Nui’s trademark tiare flower, a giant tattoo representing a story of Tahiti and its people, and the blue hues that the islands are synonymous with.
To coincide with Air Tahiti Nui’s 20th anniversary this year, the flag carrier for French Polynesia is phasing out its current Airbus A340-300 fleet and replacing it with four 787-9 Dreamliners including two purchased and two leased through the Air Lease Corporation.
The airline is set to receive all four Dreamliners by September 2019.
To celebrate the arrival, Air Tahiti Nui has released a behind-the-scenes video of the Dreamliner’s in-flight safety video which was shot in idyllic locations all over the islands including a lush waterfall, blue lagoon and the destination’s trademark overwater bungalows.
The full in-flight video will be released after the Dreamliner makes its first commercial flight from Papeete to Auckland on November 7, 2018.
