Hot Springs is the ultimate Winter experience while touring in Taiwan! Taiwan is not only a food heaven, but also the world’s “Hot Spring Kingdom.” From hot or cold springs, outdoor spas to spa resorts that offer room + meals + hot springs packages, the deeply rooted spring soaking culture across Taiwan has always been an impressive and lasting memory for visitors. The “Taiwan Hot Springs and Fine-Cuisine Carnival” is happening now till February 28th of next year; a kick-off location is selected by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau from the 17 internationally acclaimed thermal spring areas. Combining the great variety of local delicacies at all the different areas, this carnival definitely showcases the true essence of Taiwan’s LOHAS and gourmet food culture.

Every city and county has its own charm and specialty in terms of hot springs and local gourmet: Xinbeitou and Wulai hot springs in North Taiwan are dubbed “beauty baths” for their rejuvenating effects on the skin. They are also well-known for the fresh and healthy free-range chicken feast and the aboriginal Atayal cuisine. Tucked in the secluded mountains, Antong and Jhiben of Taitung County offer the excellent pork cuisine and sailfish dishes. Taichung’s Guguan, Tai’an, and Dongpu hot springs are clear and odorless, while the local Hakka cuisine, freshwater trout, and plum cuisine taste exceptionally refreshing and unique. Guanziling in Tainan has the world’s rarest muddy spring as well as the scenically stunning Sichong River hot spring. While you are there, don’t miss out on the highly nutritional lotus meal and the wild caught fish and shrimps. In an addition, the Tourism Bureau is collaborating with the OK MART this year, offering hot springs special edition bento boxes, pork-bone tonkotsu ramen, pastries, and red egg tarts that tourists will get to conveniently enjoy along their trips.

A series of lucky draw activities are available during the Taiwan Hot Springs and Fine-Cuisine Carnival for customers staying at any of the recommended hot spring resorts. Participants have a chance to win a 3C (Computer, Communication, and Consumer electronics) gift or a discount of up to 90% for immediate use!
